About the Electrophysical Forum

The Electrophysical Forum aims to provide an open forum for clinicians, researchers, students, educators and others to share views, ask questions and to initiate discussion relating to the use of Electro Physical Agents / Modalities in the world of therapy.

The development and set up of the initiative has been kindly supported by the Private Physiotherapy Educational Foundation whose generous support is gratefully acknowledged.

Whilst the forum will be moderated, it is hoped that intervention will be minimal and we trust that users will abide by the guidance and policies such that maximal benefit can be gained by all.

The panel who have volunteered to respond to queries are drawn from a global pool of experts in the field – all of whom have considerable experience – as clinicians, researchers and educators. Clearly we (‘the panel’) do not claim to have the answer to every issue that is going to be raised, but we hope to be able to make a valid contribution to the ongoing discussions.

The responses from users of electro physical modalities are very welcomed – it is NOT intended to be a didactic response facility – in which the ‘experts’ are the only ones to provide answers. We all have views, we have experience and we have knowledge derived from a wide variety of sources. Respect the views of others and learn from sharing – that would be our overarching philosophy.

Development of the Forum

The development of the Electro Physical Forum has been funded by the Private Physiotherapy Educational Foundation.

The work was instigated by Prof Tim Watson in conjunction with active support from numerous individuals with an interest and expertise relating to Electro Physical Agents

This is a non-commercial venture and does not set out to promote, endorse or in anyway advocate particular machines, systems or devices.

Many of the experts (volunteers) on the panel are associated with the International Society for Electrophysical Agents in Physical Therapy (ISEAPT) which is a formal sub group of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT). ISEAPT is a ‘not for profit’ organisation.
